French Consumer Association criticises hidden fees of remittance companies
The independent French consumer association UFC – Que Choisir criticised the non-transparent service pricing of the large remittance companies. According to a recently published article in the French newspaper “le parisien” the association accused both incumbent remittance companies to use deceiving business practices by not openly informing their clients about the fees taken from the currency exchange. Particularly the situation in Algeria, where the total cost of a remittance transaction reaches on average 9.4% of the amount transferred, which is considered by the association as unbearable for consumers.

Tapping on New Markets
Following the successful launch of its smartphone app Pintail has extended its reach to the Moroccan communities in Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. With this extension the product is already available and operational in five countries, including France and Morocco.
